RTD Talos Ltd, a Research, Technology and Development organisation based in Nicosia, is looking to strengthen its Technology Development team by recruiting an Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning Engineer.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence solutions within national and European Research & Innovation projects, as well as to the development of new technological products and services for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and evaluate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications.
  • Develop and train Machine Learning / Deep Learning models.
  • Apply Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) technologies.
  • Develop applications leveraging AI APIs, RAG architectures, intelligent agents and related technologies.
  • Process, analyse and utilise data for the development of intelligent applications.
  • Integrate AI models into software, digital platforms and pilot applications.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of research and technology projects.
  • Monitor international developments in Artificial Intelligence and evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption by the company.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering or another related field.
  • Very good knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning / Deep Learning technologies and libraries.
  • Good understanding of algorithms, data structures and software development.
  • Very good command of the English language.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Analytical thinking, creativity and an interest in developing innovative technological solutions.

Additional Qualifications Considered an Advantage

  • Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related field.
  • Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, NLP, Computer Vision or AI Agents.
  • Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face or related technologies.
  • Experience in cloud environments and AI application deployment.
  • Knowledge of databases, APIs and modern software development technologies.
  • Participation in research projects or European Research & Innovation programmes.
  • Publications or personal/academic projects related to AI/ML.

Research & Innovation Expert – Sustainability & Life Cycle Assessment

Job Description
The candidate will actively participate in the design, implementation and support of research and development projects, with emphasis on:

  • Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
  • Life Cycle Costing (LCC)
  • Social Life Cycle Analysis (SLCA)
  • Safe & Sustainable by Design (SSbD)

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation and analysis of LCA, LCC and SLCA studies
    Development and implementation of SSbD methodologies
  • Participation in the writing and implementation of European projects (Horizon Europe, LIFE, etc.)
  • Collection and processing of sustainability data
  • Collaboration with international partners and scientific groups
  • Writing of technical reports, deliverables and publications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or a related field
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    LCA / LCC / SLCA
    SSbD or related sustainability methodologies
  • Good knowledge of relevant tools (e.g. OpenLCA, SimaPro, GaBi or equivalent)
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Ability to write technical texts

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in European research projects
  • Knowledge of sustainability regulatory frameworks (e.g. EU Green Deal, taxonomy)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team spirit and communication skills
