9th International Conference of the Hellenic Metallurgical Society
Dr. Pavlos Mavromatides from the Frederick Research Center will present the paper “Cycle Performance of a Novel Thermal Energy Storage (TES) System Based on Geopolymers from Construction and Demolition Waste” at the 9th International Conference of the Hellenic Metallurgical Society, to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on November 3–4, 2025. The paper showcases research findings from the DIAS project.
DIAS at FEMS EUROMAT 2025
Dr. Ioanna Giannopoulou from the Frederick Research Center participated in the EUROMAT2025 Congress, held in Granada, Spain, from September 14 to 18, 2025. Her presentation, titled “Innovative and Sustainable Materials for High-Temperature Thermal Energy Storage Systems,” focused on experimental results from the DIAS research project.

The DIAS consortium held its first progress meeting in January 2025 to review achievements and plan next steps. Discussions focused on material development, system design, prototype preparation, and sustainability evaluation. The team also advanced dissemination activities and initiated Life Cycle Assessment efforts.
