"Classification of buildings in Cyprus based on their energy efficiency"

The specific research project aims at the categorization of existing building reserve in Cyprus, based on their energy output and at the end their mapmaking of them in their total. The innovation of the regarding project consists is that this is the first time where such a thing is attempted, a completed imprinting of the energy output of building reserve of Cyprus. This imprinting will constitute the base and it will support the application of the conventional obligations of the Cypriot Democracy that concerns with the energy efficiency and the energy output of the buildings. Besides, the further treatment of results will lead in the development of measures and targeted actions for the improvement of energy efficiency that will take place and will support the central objective of saving energy and the reduction of greenhouse gases, while simultaneously they will support the main objective of purgation of the economic growth of Cyprus from the non-controlled and galloping prices of conventional fuels. It is expected that the results of this research will create the conditions and the bases for the growth of the research core of knowledge in the sector of the rational growth of the urban structured environment, the development of subsidy plans and other actions for the sustainable planning and the saving of energy in buildings.
